Hong Kong Sinfonietta has been enriching the local arts scene with its unique palette of sound through the years, adding kaleidoscopic colours to the stories and emotions of life. For its Partner Programme with the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo 2026, the orchestra is presenting a spectacular showcase of Hong Kong’s leading musical talents, starting with the world première of in-demand composer Charles Kwong’s Sheng Concerto “Horizons” – a work written for veteran Sheng master Loo Sze-wang, exploring what lies beyond human perception and existence. Hailed as Hong Kong’s foremost string quartet, the Cong Quartet will then take centre stage in Benjamin Lees’ sparkling Concerto for String Quartet and Orchestra, before Music Director Emeritus Yip Wing-sie leads the orchestra in an exhilarating conclusion of Dvořák’s well-loved Symphony No 8.
