Cabane Cubaine is taking over the concert hall for a wild night of dancing
The Cabane Cubaine was the most famous cabaret in Paris in the 1930s. Now, Cuban piano virtuoso Roberto Fonseca and his band will take you back to the heart of Cuba’s jazz age, bringing the wild energy from Parisian cabarets to the Hong Kong audience. With fiery rhythms of percussion and an orchestra as grand as the Cotton Club or Buena Vista, you won’t be able to resist swaying to the melodies of a man who embodies the soul of Cuban music.
Fonseca was born in 1975 into a family of celebrated Cuban artists, honing his craft from an early age. His performances seamlessly blend tradition and modernity, honouring the rich heritage of Cuban music while infusing it with dazzling contemporary flair.
At the young age of 15, Fonseca stunned audiences at the Havana Jazz Festival with his raw talent, and later received a Grammy nomination for his Cuban-West African music album Yo. In 2019, Fonseca was honoured as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France’s highest artistic distinction. With nine solo albums and countless collaborations under his belt, he continues to redefine Cuban music on the global stage.
Now, a decade after his triumphant performance at the 2014 Hong Kong Arts Festival, he returns with this thrilling new project La Gran Diversión. It is more than just a concert. From the very first note, Fonseca and his band will ignite the stage, inviting you to laugh and dance the night away.
